As we are witnessing during these trying times, a major economic downturn caused by an event or otherwise can be extremely hard and pressing for working professionals. The entire industry is ridden with job layoffs and wage cuts. In such tough phases, finding the job that suits one expertise is crucial, and professionals depend on person-to-person referrals and mundane job portals in their quest for the right designation.

To change the perspective and bridge the gap between employers and prospects, Bengaluru-based SaaS startup FloCareer is now providing a platform that will identify talents for a particular designation by outsourcing their technical interviews to employers.

Established in 2016 by Mehul Bhatt and Mohit Jain, the startup is trying to build a close-knit job search community.

    The mechanism

FloCareer provides an Interview-as-a-Service platform with remote hiring and AI-based applicant tracking system to its clientele. The company has experts onboard that help in filtering prospects for a particular designation. The unique edge, however, is the company's focus on highlighting an employee's core deliverables such as team development rather than just screening individuals.

When a company enlists its requirement with FloCareer, the startup consults its experts and starts reviewing candidates and conduct live video interviews. When the screening round is over, the AI platform automates the scheduling of interviews with employers looking to hire the talent.

The company ensures that applicants signed in with the platform are regularly tracked and eventually placed with a company. It boasts of total transparency to its users- starting from the selection process until the final placement is done.

The startup currently has over 700 handpicked professional interviewers who conduct technical interview rounds on behalf of a company, using its video interaction platform which is a part of their stack. In the last two-and-a-half years, the company has conducted over 25,000 interviews on behalf of several employers.

The key reason why the founders believe HRs should adopt FloCareer’s platform is the transparency and efficiency that it brings to the candidate hiring process.

The funding and revenue details remain undisclosed.

    Plans and conclusion

The main challenge that lies ahead of FloCareer is convincing the HR department of the employers about their platform and the higher rate of efficiency it carries with it. It takes a substantial amount of time to explain their prospective clients their transparency and the importance of speeding up the process of hiring the right talents.

In the next two years, the company plans to expand its clientele base in IT sector, financial and healthcare sectors in countries such as the US, the UK, Australia, the APAC region and the middle east. Till date, it has helped esteemed employers such as CRISIL, Rapido, Wipro, BYJU’s, CitiusTech, BigBasket, Tencent and CSS Corp find the right candidate for various designations.

By the end of this year, the company has targeted to complete more than 6,000 interviews. At present, it competes with the likes of other unique recruitment platforms such as the US-based Talview.
